Companies Must Have Real Directors – Act Now

PLEASE NOTE: Information in this article is correct at the time of publication, please contact DFA Law for current advice on older articles.

From 1 October 2010 all UK-registered companies have to have at least one ‘natural’ director. The exemption from this requirement for companies which were incorporated before 1 October 2008 and which had only corporate directors on 8 November 2006 ends then.

The new requirement applies to both trading and dormant companies. If you have not already done so, you should appoint a ‘natural’ director by the end of the month!

See Section 155 of the Companies Act 2006
